Kullu. The period of heavy rains has now started in Himachal Pradesh. After the flash flood in Manali a few days ago, now flash flood has come in Manikaran of Kullu as well. Here, a cloud burst in Tosh of Manikaran and shops and hotels have been damaged. However, there has been no loss of life. On the other hand, the Leh Manali highway has been closed again near Palchan.
After heavy rains here, water and debris have come on the highway.According to the information, there has been a flash flood in the drain in Tosh village of Manikaran valley of Kullu. Due to heavy rains in the mountains, the drain got flooded and then temporary sheds, shops, and liquor shops have been washed away. It rained around 2 o’clock on Tuesday night and then the Tosh drain got flooded.
DC Kullu DC Kullu Torul S Ravish said that the administration sent a team of the Revenue Department to assess the damage on the spot. Earlier, last week there was a flash flood in Solang Nala of Manali and then three houses were damaged in Palchan village. At the same time, on Sunday also the water level of Beas river increased in Palchan of Manali and four houses were evacuated. It is worth noting that an orange alert has been issued for August 1 and 2 in Himachal Pradesh.
On the other hand, the Leh Manali highway has once again been closed. Due to heavy rains here, debris, stones and water have come on the highway. At present, cabbage season is going on in Lahaul these days and in such a situation farmers and gardeners are facing problems. Former Himachal CM Jairam Thakur has also reacted to the flash flood.
He said that I am worried to hear the news of shops and bridges being damaged in Tosh of Manikaran Valley due to heavy rains. People are facing a lot of problems due to the damage to the connecting road/bridge, but it is unfortunate that no representative of the Congress government and administration has reached the spot yet. The government needs to take immediate steps to compensate for the damage and provide assistance to the affected families and carry out relief work as soon as possible.
