Shimla/Chandigarh. In Himachal Pradesh, rain and landslides are affecting people a lot. The prices of vegetables have increased a lot. Where the supply of vegetables and tomatoes from Himachal to Chandigarh and Haryana has been affected.
The supply of everyday items like milk bread from Chandigarh to Himachal has been affected. The Chandigarh-Kalka-Shimla highway near Parwanoo in Solan district has been closed for three days.
Due to this, the supply of tomatoes has been affected in Solan. At the same time, the supply of cabbage is not reaching from Kinnaur and Lahaul Spiti. This is the reason why the prices of vegetables are skyrocketing in Sector-26 Sabzi Mandi of Chandigarh city.
In Shimla district, apples have disappeared from the market of Sector 26 due to the closure of several link roads. Apples are available in a few fruit shops in Mandi, that too at Rs.220 per kg.
Tomato prices have reached Rs 250 per kg in the Chandigarh vegetable market. Cauliflower has its record price of Rs 100 per kg. Apple traders say that due to the rain, the supply has reduced a lot.
