Himachal: 2 feet snowfall in Shinkula-Baralacha, Leh-Manali NH closed

Shimla. The weather has changed between yellow and orange alert in Himachal Pradesh. The weather is going on in Lahaul Spiti valley since last three days. At the same time, snowfall was seen in Shimla, Mandi and Sirmaur.

Shimla’s Hatu Peak has received its first snowfall of the season. Similarly, Shikari Devi of Janjehali in Mandi also received snowfall on Sunday. In such a situation, winter has knocked in Himachal Pradesh.

From Sunday to Monday morning, about two feet of snow has fallen in Baralacha Pass and Shinkula Pass. Lahaul Police Administration has stopped the movement of vehicles from both the passes till the road is cleared.

Around seventy to 80 vehicles have been stopped near Darcha police check post. Most of these vehicles are big vehicles, which are carrying supplies for the army front along with the local people of Leh-Ladakh.

According to the information, about 15 vehicles with local chains have been released towards Leh, while the movement of big and other vehicles is currently banned.
