Opener batsman Shubman Gill has suffered dengue. In such a situation, it may take 7 to 10 days for them to recover. In such a situation, he may be out of more than one match. If Gill does not play, Ishan Kishan may get a chance to open.
A BCCI official said, Shubman Gill has high fever since reaching Chennai. Their tests are being done. He will be tested on Friday also and after that the decision on his playing will be taken.
Only the medical team will take the decision on Gill. Team India has to face Australia on 8th October. After this, they have to face Afghanistan on 11th October and Pakistan on 14th October. Shubman Gill may be out of all these matches.
24 year old Shubhman Gill had recently appeared in the ODI series against Australia and had performed amazingly. He scored 74 runs in the first match and 104 runs in the second match.
He was rested from the third match. Team India also captured the series 2-1. Earlier, in the Asia Cup 2023, Gill performed brilliantly with the bat and scored the maximum of 302 runs. Gill had also scored a century in the Asia Cup.
