Bangalore. Sunil Kadugolu has been appointed as Chief Advisor to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah with the rank of Cabinet Minister. The Karnataka Chief Minister’s Office gave this information on Thursday.
The officials of the Chief Minister’s Office had already confirmed that the appointment has been finalized and the order will be issued soon.
It is also learned that the party high command is keen to use Sunil Kadugolu’s services for next year’s Lok Sabha elections as well, in view of the emphatic victory in Karnataka where the party relied heavily on its micro-management.
Kadugolu is one of the members of the Congress core team behind developing campaigns like ’40 percent’ and ‘Pay CM’ against the previous BJP government in Karnataka.
Kadugolu, a Bachelor of Engineering, was born in Ballari district and later lived in Chennai and Bangalore.
He has an MS degree in Finance and is also an MBA. His firm Mindshare Analytics worked for the Congress in the Karnataka assembly elections.
Kadugolu has also worked with well-known election strategist Prashant Kishor in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, but later parted ways and formed his own firm.
Unlike Kishor, Kadugolu has no presence on social media and is said to be a recluse.
Before the Karnataka elections, he joined the Congress and continued to work as a behind the scenes strategist.
