The Bengal government told the SC that ‘The Kerala Story’ is based on fabricated facts and hate speech.

New Delhi. On Tuesday, the West Bengal government filed its affidavit in the Supreme Court regarding the banning of the film ‘The Kerala Story’. The Bengal government, while justifying the decision to ban the film in the state, argued in the affidavit that ‘ The film ‘The Kerala Story’ is based on fabricated facts and hate speech has been used in it.

The West Bengal government has also said in its affidavit that ‘the state government has come to know from the intelligence department that if the screening of the film is allowed, the law and order situation in West Bengal may deteriorate’.

The West Bengal government told the Supreme Court, ‘The facts have been tampered with in the story of the film and indecent and hateful language has been used in it. If the release of the film is allowed, then there can be a situation of communal harmony and law and order deterioration in the state.

The West Bengal government said that the screening of the film could lead to clashes between several groups. Therefore, to avoid any incident of hatred and violence, the film has been banned in the state.
