New Delhi. The makers of ‘The Kerala Story’ are all set to move the Supreme Court seeking lifting of the ban on the film in West Bengal. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday ordered an immediate ban on the screening of controversial film ‘The Kerala Story’ in the state to avoid ‘any incident of hatred and violence’.
With this, West Bengal became the first state to ban the film. After this Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that such action was beyond his understanding. Is the Trinamool Congress chief’s sympathy with terrorist organizations and not with the innocent girls of Kerala? Thakur also saw the film in a cinema hall in Delhi.
The film’s producer Vipul Shah said that he would take legal action against the ban imposed by the TMC government. At the same time, the West Bengal government said that ‘to avoid any incident of hatred and violence and to maintain peace in the state, the Chief Minister has directed an immediate ban on the performance of ‘The Kerala Story’.
Earlier, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee alleged in a press conference that ‘The Kashmir Files’ were created to humiliate a section of the society. Whereas ‘The Kerala Story’ is a distorted film, aimed at defaming the southern state.
Significantly, in ‘The Kerala Story’, the tragedy of three women has been shown. Those who are taken to ISIS camps by human trafficking after converting to Islam after marriage. Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Siddhi Idnani and Sonia Balani are in lead roles in the film.
