Tomatoes become even cheaper, buy from August 20 at Rs 40 a kg

Tomato Price News: In view of the decline in tomato prices in the wholesale and retail markets, the Central Government on Friday directed the Co-operative Society Indian National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation Limited and National Consumer Cooperative Federation of India Limited to sell tomatoes at the rate of Rs 40 per kg from August 20. ordered to sell.

Since the month of July, both NCCF and NAFED, the agricultural marketing agencies on behalf of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, are selling tomatoes at subsidized rates in Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Bihar to boost domestic availability and control price rise. .

Initially, the ministry had asked both the cooperatives to sell tomatoes at a subsidized rate of Rs 90 per kg and later reduced the price to Rs 50 per kg. Now the price has come down to Rs 40 per kg.

“The retail price, which was last revised by Rs 50 per kg on August 15, will now be reduced to Rs 40 per kg from August 20,” an official statement said on Friday.
