Mysore. With just this one bet of the PM Narendra Modi government, the prices of tomatoes have come down from the sky. Just a few weeks ago, where the prices of tomatoes were touching the sky at the height of Rs. 180 to Rs. 200 per kg, now a huge decline is being seen in the prices of tomatoes.
Now tomatoes are being sold at only Rs.14 per kg in the Mysore market. Due to which the common people are getting a big relief, while now the tomato farmers are disappointed. In fact, the government of PM Narendra Modi has decided to import tomatoes in large quantities from Nepal.
Only after this, the prices in the market of Karnataka have dropped drastically due to cheap tomatoes coming in the markets of North India. Tomato prices have come down to Rs 14 per kg in Mysore APMC on Sunday, which was Rs 20 on Saturday.
The retail price in Bengaluru was between Rs 30 and Rs 35 per kg on Sunday. The reason for this decline in prices is believed to be the decrease in demand in the northern states, which is mainly due to the import of tomatoes from Nepal.
