New Delhi. Amidst the ongoing discussion on the Uniform Civil Code across the country, there are speculations that a bill may be introduced in the monsoon session of the Parliament.
It is being talked about starting the monsoon session from 17th July. However, the official announcement of the date has not been made yet. The government is in favor of talks with all the stakeholders on this issue.
The Law Commission has also sought suggestions from the people. Meanwhile, the Standing Committee on Legal Affairs of the Parliament has also called a meeting on July 3, in which all the stake holders have been called.
It is obvious that in the election year, the opposition will try to corner the government on its issues, then the government will try to expose the opposition’s confusion on an important subject like UCC.
