Uttarakhand: Heavy rain in the mountains, light rain expected in the plains; yellow alert issued

Dehradun: The weather conditions in Uttarakhand seem to be softening a bit. Despite the orange alert of the Meteorological Department, very heavy rainfall was not recorded anywhere in the state. However, there were a few spells of light to moderate rain with dense clouds throughout the day.

According to the Meteorological Department, it is expected to remain cloudy in most areas for the next four days. There may be intense showers and heavy rains at some places. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in most areas.

There is a sequence of light to moderate rainfall in the state. Cloudy in most areas. On Thursday, showers were recorded in the mountains and light rain in the plains. Although, Orange Alert was issued by the Meteorological Department regarding heavy rains, but at present the weather pattern remains normal.

According to Bikram Singh, director of the State Meteorological Center, today i.e. on Friday, there is a possibility of heavy rain in the mountainous areas and light to moderate rain in most of the plains including Dehradun. The temperature of most of the cities of the state remained near normal.

Due to light rain, a slight drop in the maximum temperature has been recorded. Yellow alert has been issued for heavy rain at some places in Dehradun, Nainital, Bageshwar, Tehri, Pauri, Chamoli and Pithoragarh.
