New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on phone and took information about the ongoing rescue operation in Silkyara Tunnel of Uttarkashi. PM Modi took information about the efforts being made to safely rescue the workers trapped in the tunnel as well as the necessary rescue equipment and resources sent by the Central Government.
Since this accident, PM Modi has called CM Dhami thrice to get information about the rescue operation. Let us tell you that it has been about 9 days since this accident. But till now the workers have not been pulled out from inside the debris. However, the rescue operation is being carried out rapidly.
Various types of machines are being installed to remove the debris, but no success has been achieved so far. Meanwhile, there is talk of taking the help of the army. Army sources said, “A team of army personnel visited the spot for inspection.
The army is present at the spot, but BRO and other agencies are involved in the operation. There is no direct involvement of the army so far. A team of army engineers is on standby. Let us tell you that teams are already engaged in this rescue operation. Help is also being taken from foreign teams.
The prolonged confinement of workers inside the tunnel is raising serious concerns about their well-being. Former advisor to PM Bhaskar Khulbe said, there is a possibility of workers being rescued in 4-5 days. Rescue efforts were stopped on Sunday and it was decided that vertical drilling would be done to save people, for which equipment was collected from Gujarat and Odisha.
