Workers who escaped safely in Uttarkashi tunnel accident told their experience to PM Modi

New Delhi:In a recent development, 41 laborers who had been trapped in the Silkyara Tunnel of Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand for the past 17 days were successfully rescued on Tuesday. A prompt and intensive rescue operation was carried out to ensure the safety of the workers.

Upon emerging from the tunnel, all the workers underwent health assessments at the hospital. Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally spoke with the workers, commending their bravery and acknowledging their ordeal. During the conversation, PM Modi expressed gratitude to the divine, stating that the workers were blessed by Baba Kedarnath.

While conversing with PM Modi, the workers shared their experiences of spending 17 days in the tunnel. As the workers chanted slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” PM Modi praised their enthusiasm and congratulated them on their safe evacuation, attributing it to the blessings of Baba Kedarnath and Badrinath. PM Modi expressed his uncertainty about how the situation would have been handled if anything had gone wrong, commending the workers for maintaining high morale throughout the ordeal.

One laborer, Ahmed, informed PM Modi that they were stranded for 18 days in the two-and-a-half-kilometer-long tunnel. Despite the challenging circumstances, the workers expressed gratitude to the Uttarakhand government and Chief Minister Dhami Saheb for their support.

PM Modi acknowledged the role of General VK Singh and mentioned that some of the workers were familiar with yoga, which proved beneficial during the challenging time.PM Modi praised the workers’ leadership and resilience, acknowledging that the encouragement from leaders like Chief Minister Dhami Saheb played a crucial role. He noted that it is natural to feel sad and emotional in such situations but highlighted the importance of family support in keeping morale high.

During the conversation, a worker named Akhilesh from Mirzapur, UP, expressed gratitude for the assistance received, to which PM Modi responded by mentioning his own roots in Uttar Pradesh. Another worker, Sonu Kumar from Chhapra district in Bihar, expressed thanks for the support provided by NDRF and SDRF during the rescue operation.
