New Delhi. Today is a big test for the grand alliance of opposition parties (I.N.D.I.A.) engaged in preparations for the Lok Sabha elections. Today, the voting process has started in seven assembly seats of 6 states under the by-elections.
The seven seats include Ghosi assembly seat in Uttar Pradesh, Dumri in Jharkhand, Dhanpur and Boxnagar in Tripura, Bageshwar assembly seat in Uttarakhand, Dhupguri in West Bengal and Puthupalli assembly seat in Kerala.
After the voting process is completed today, the counting of votes will be done on September 8. Let us tell you that the opposition alliance is contesting jointly on Ghosi seat of Uttar Pradesh, Dumri of Jharkhand, Dhanpur of Tripura and Boxnagar and Bageshwar seat of Uttarakhand.
Whereas in Dhupguri of West Bengal and Puthupalli of Kerala, the parties of the alliance are contesting against each other. NDA has fielded Dara Singh Chauhan from Ghosi assembly seat of Mau district of Uttar Pradesh.
While Samajwadi Party has fielded Sudhakar Singh, who has been supported by Congress and Left parties, BJP has fielded Taapsee Roy from Dhupguri seat in West Bengal. At the same time, both CPM and TMC are fighting against each other with the support of Congress.
TMC has made Nirmal Chandra Roy its candidate. There is a contest between BJP and CPM on Dhanpur and Boxnagar seats of Sipahijala district of Tripura.
Apart from this, Puthupalli Assembly seat in Kerala is between Congress led UDF and LDF. Whereas in Bageshwar Assembly seat of Uttarakhand, BJP has fielded Parvati Das, wife of late minister Chandan Ramdas.
Whereas Congress has made Basant Kumar its candidate. Whereas the I.N.D.I.A alliance has fielded Baby Devi in the Dumri assembly seat of Jharkhand. Whereas Yashoda Devi is the candidate from NDA.
