At the same time, the weather suddenly changed in Bihar and Himachal Pradesh and the department has issued ‘Yellow’ and Orange alerts respectively in view of the situation there.

The department said that on Thursday, the maximum temperature in the national capital could drop to 35 degree Celsius. The IMD has also predicted the maximum temperature in the region to remain below normal till June 30.

According to the IMD, due to the effect of a western disturbance active over the western Himalayan region, people are expected to get some respite from the scorching heat due to cloudy sky, strong winds and light rain.

The Met department uses four ‘colour codes’ for weather warnings – green (no action required), yellow (watch and stay updated), orange (be prepared) and red (take action).

During this, there is also a possibility of strong winds blowing at a speed of 40-50 kilometers per hour.

This forecast of the Meteorological Department is expected to bring some relief from the scorching heat as the maximum temperature is likely to decrease by two to four degrees in the coming days.
