Weather Update:Snowfall intensifies shivering in Himachal, cold will increase further in Delhi-Punjab

New Delhi:Many regions, including the national capital Delhi, are currently in the grip of severe cold. The cold wave has tightened its hold on North India, encompassing Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh. Simultaneously, this area is facing exceptionally low temperatures accompanied by persistent fog.

In the past 24 hours, minimum temperatures have varied between 3-7 degrees Celsius across most parts of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Rajasthan, as well as isolated areas in Uttar Pradesh, South Rajasthan, North Madhya Pradesh, and Bihar.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), icy winds are expected in Haryana and Punjab on January 13. The forecast of the Meteorological Department shows that the cold period with fog may continue for four to five days.

According to the Meteorological Department in the capital Delhi, there is not much hope of relief from dense fog till January 15. On January 13, the minimum temperature can be recorded at 5 degrees and the maximum temperature can be recorded at 18 degrees.

Despite the sun coming out yesterday in Punjab, there was no respite from the harsh cold due to icy winds. The lowest temperature was recorded at 1.4 degrees in Amritsar, 3 degrees in Gurdaspur, 2.8 degrees in Faridkot, 2 degrees in Bathinda, 3.8 degrees in Barnala, 4.4 degrees in Patiala, 4.7 degrees in Fatehgarh Sahib and 4.6 degrees in Ludhiana.

The coldest temperature was recorded at 2.5 degrees in Narnaul, Haryana, followed by 3.9 degrees in Bhiwani. Temperature was recorded at 5.1 degrees in Hisar, 6.6 degrees in Ambala, 6.9 degrees in Karnal and 6.4 degrees in Sirsa.
