New Delhi:A severe cold wave is sweeping across North India, impacting the national capital, Delhi. Icy winds have intensified, causing temperatures to plummet to 1 and 2 degrees Celsius at various locations. In Delhi, the anticipated minimum temperature for today is approximately 9 degrees Celsius, with a maximum temperature reaching around 20 degrees Celsius.
The mercury is expected to hover around 14 degrees Celsius throughout the day.Shifting focus to the precipitation outlook, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted light to moderate rainfall in specific areas of South Tamil Nadu, South Kerala, and Lakshadweep until January 4.
The weather agency has also predicted cold day conditions in different parts of Punjab and Haryana from January 2 to January 4. Delhi is one of those cities of North India, where as winter increases, people are facing dense fog and extremely cold weather. Due to fog in the national capital, trains as well as flights are being cancelled.
Whereas melting and fog persist in Uttar Pradesh. The effect of the activity of Western Disturbance is visible in Bundelkhand and Vindhya region. There are chances of light rain and drizzle in the southern parts of the state for the next two-three days.Yellow alert has also been issued regarding fog in most areas of Uttar Pradesh.
Talking about the weather on 3rd, according to Skymet Weather report, light to moderate rain is possible in Lakshadweep along with heavy rain at some places. Light rain is possible in isolated parts of Southern Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Coastal Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh. At the same time, after 24 hours, the intensity and spread of rain may increase in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka.
