Heat wave in Delhi-NCR, Cyclone Mocha expected to turn into very severe cyclone today

New Delhi. The heat has once again started gaining momentum in Delhi-NCR. On May 12, the maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to reach 42 degree Celsius. While the minimum temperature is expected to be 23 degree Celsius.

Today the cyclonic storm ‘Mocha’, called ‘Mokha’ in the Bay of Bengal, is moving northwards in the Bay of Bengal. It is very likely to move northwards and intensify into a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm over central Bay of Bengal by the morning of May 12.

Cyclone ‘Mocha’ is likely to cross the coasts of southeast Bangladesh and northern Myanmar around the afternoon of May 14. The India Meteorological Department has expressed hope that the wind speed in Cyclone Mocha will be 150-160 km at the time of hitting the coast. Can be from per hour to 175 km per hour.

Due to ‘Mocha’, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain at many places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands on 12th May. And today, 110-120 km in the east middle of the Bay of Bengal. The storm is expected to come at a speed of 135 km per hour.

According to IMD, today there may be rain with lightning, strong winds (wind speed 30-40 kmph) and thundershowers at isolated places over Odisha, Coastal and South Interior Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe.

According to IMD, today there is a possibility of heat wave at many places in Bihar, West Bengal, Gujarat, West Rajasthan and Madhya Maharashtra. Today, the maximum temperature is expected to be between 42 to 44 degree Celsius over most parts of West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, North Interior Odisha, Gujarat and West Rajasthan.
