Bardhaman. BJP leader and businessman Raju Jha was shot dead in Purba Bardhaman district of West Bengal. Police said that when Raju was on his way to Kolkata, he was attacked outside a sweet shop in Amra under Shaktigarh police station area.
Giving information, the police said that Raju Jha was sitting in his SUV outside the shop, when two persons arrived in a car. After this, the accused attacked him. One of the accused broke the glasses of his SUV car with a rod. While the other started firing on them.
The police officer said that the attacker fired several rounds. Jha died on the spot in the attack. While two other people present with him were injured. After the incident, the accused fled from the spot.
Police said that the injured have been admitted to the hospital. At the same time, after receiving information about the firing, senior police officers visited the spot. Police said that investigation has been started in the matter.
