Naba Saraniya, two-time independent MP from Kokrajhar, Assam, has filed his nomination this time from Valmikinagar parliamentary constituency. Gana Suraksha Party’s founding president Naba Saraniya suddenly reached the Collectorate on Monday and filed his nomination.
On this seat, he will face Sunil Kumar of JDU and Deepak Yadav of RJD. Already, Congress rebel Pravesh Mishra and NDA rebel Dinesh Aggarwal have filed independent nominations. After the nomination of Saraniya on this Tharu tribal dominated seat, the contest has become interesting.
MP Naba Sarania, who came from Assam to file nomination at Bettiah Collectorate in Bihar, said that his nomination was canceled due to some technical reasons in Assam. The purpose of contesting elections from Valmiki Nagar is to work for the tribals, backward classes, extremely backward classes, scheduled castes and tribes, to promote them and to provide them social identity.
Naba Saraniya said that if Prime Minister Narendra Modi can go to Varanasi and contest elections then why can’t I contest from Valmikinagar. If I win, I will work for the development of all sections.According to the information, Sarania has been the commander of 709 battalion of ULFA of Assam. Naba, a resident of Dighlipar village in Baksa district of Assam, joined the organization in 1990.
On August 20, 2012, Guwahati Police arrested him along with three other people on charges of robbery, kidnap and murder. Later, he left the organization and took up politics as his career.
