Mumbai. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has said that such new vehicles will be launched, which will run completely on ethanol fuel.
Speaking at an event in Nagpur on Sunday, Union minister Gadkari recalled the incident when he had recently met the chairman of Mercedes Benz company, which had launched an electric vehicle.
Gadkari said that ‘the chairman told me that they will make only electric vehicles in future’. Gadkari said that now ‘we are bringing new vehicles, which will run completely on ethanol.
Gadkari said that he will launch Toyota’s Camry car in August, which will run on 100 per cent ethanol and generate 40 per cent electricity. ,
If you compare it with petrol, then ethanol will cost Rs 15 per liter. Because the price of ethanol is Rs 60, while the price of petrol is Rs 120 per litre.
Also it will generate 40 percent electricity. Due to which its average cost will be Rs 15 per liter. Nitin Gadkari has said earlier also that India needs to make its transport industry carbon-free soon.
