Earthquake News :On Saturday, both Bangladesh and Ladakh experienced tremors from a strong earthquake. The National Seismology Center reported that the earthquake in Bangladesh, around 9 am, measured 5.6 on the Richter scale, with its impact felt as far as West Bengal, India.
Additionally, Ladakh felt tremors at 8:25 am, measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale. Fortunately, there have been no reported casualties or property damage due to these seismic events, providing a sense of relief. The National Seismology Center provided these details.
Earthquakes result from the displacement of tectonic plates within the Earth. The Earth comprises seven continuously rotating plates. Increased collisions between these plates lead to disturbances on the Earth’s surface.
The magnitude of an earthquake is determined by analyzing the energy waves emanating from its epicenter. These waves propagate over vast distances, causing vibrations and even resulting in fissures in the Earth’s crust.
