Bareilly. After getting bail from Allahabad High Court, Bahubali Dhananjay Singh was released from Bareilly Central Jail on Wednesday. Talking to the media after his release from jail, Dhananjay Singh said that he was sent to jail on false cases. Dhananjay Singh got bail from the High Court on Saturday.
However, due to no stay on the sentence, Dhananjay Singh will not be able to contest the elections. In place of Dhananjay Singh, his wife Srikala Reddy is contesting from Jaunpur seat on BSP ticket.According to Dhananjay Singh’s lawyer Shiv Pratap Singh, after the Allahabad High Court does not stay the sentence, a consultation will be held about challenging the decision in the Supreme Court or the High Court.
Only after consultation with Dhananjay Singh, consideration will be given to challenging the decision in the Supreme Court or filing a review in the Allahabad High Court. However, the chances of Dhananjay Singh contesting the elections are now very less.
He will be able to contest the elections only if his sentence is stayed before the last date of nomination on May 6. However, Dhananjay Singh’s wife Shri Kala Reddy is the BSP candidate from Jaunpur Lok Sabha seat. It is being told that she can file her nomination today.
