New Delhi. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday conducted massive raids at several places in three states in the Rameshwaram cafe blast case of Bengaluru. During this period the investigation team achieved great success. A key conspirator has been arrested.
NIA teams detained Muzammil Sharif as a co-conspirator after raiding 12 places in Karnataka, 5 in Tamil Nadu and 18 places in Uttar Pradesh.NIA took over the case on March 3. The investigating agency had earlier identified the main accused Musavir Shajib Hussain. He was the one who carried out this explosion. He had also identified another conspirator, Abdul Matheen Taha, who is wanted by the agency in other cases. Both the persons are absconding.
NIA investigation has revealed that Muzammil Sharif had provided logistics support to the other two accused identified in the case related to the IED blast at the cafe on ITPL Road in Brookfield, Bengaluru on March 1.Many customers and hotel employees were injured in the explosion. During this time, some people suffered serious injuries and there was also huge damage to property.
Today, raids were conducted on the houses of these three accused as well as the residential complexes and shops of other suspects. During the search, several digital devices along with cash were seized. Efforts are on to nab the absconding accused and unearth the larger conspiracy behind the blast.
