According to the National Center for Seismology on the matter, a magnitude 6.1 earthquake has occurred in Hokkaido, Japan at 1448 hours. Significantly, even earlier on February 25, strong tremors were felt in Hokkaido, Japan. Even then, the magnitude of the earthquake was measured at 6.1 on the Richter scale.
Then, according to the United Nations Geological Survey, the earthquake hit Nemuro Island at a depth of 61 kilometers. According to Japanese authorities on the matter, the tremors of the earthquake were felt at 10:27 pm local time.
