Kolkata: ED action is being seen early in the morning in Sandeshkhali, West Bengal. The ED team has been raiding several locations of TMC leader Shahjahan Sheikh arrested in Sandeshkhali since morning. Apart from Shahjahan, the ED team is raiding the premises of many of his close associates in Sandeshkhali.
There are allegations against Shahjahan Sheikh of land grabbing and sexual harassment of women. The ED team is conducting this raid in the land grabbing case against Shahjahan Sheikh. It is being told that ED has got information about financial transactions during the interrogation of Shahjahan Sheikh.
This raid is taking place in this sequence.At present, raids are being conducted at 4 places in Sandeshkhali and during this a large number of central security forces teams are present. Security forces have surrounded the entire area.
Let us tell you that the ED has taken action in Sandeshkhali at a time when the CBI on Wednesday arrested suspended Trinamool Congress leader Shahjahan in connection with the mob attack on Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials on January 5 in Sandeshkhali, West Bengal. Sheikh’s brother and some other people close to him were summoned for questioning.
A CBI team went to Sandeshkhali in North 24 Parganas district on Wednesday and with the help of local police reached the house of Shahjahan’s brother Alamgir Sheikh. Officials said that Alamgir was not present at home and notice for questioning has been given to his family. Notice has also been sent to some other people considered close to Shahjahan.
