Chandigarh. Punjab Police has arrested a key associate of Amritpal Singh from Sirhind. Border Range DIG Narinder Bhargava said that Amritpal’s aide Joga Singh was arrested in a joint operation by the police.
According to the police, Joga Singh was with Amritpal from 18 to 28 March. It will be presented in Hoshiarpur court. SSP Rural of Amritsar Satinder Singh told that it was Joga Singh who had brought Amritpal back to Punjab on March 27.
Joga, a resident of Ludhiana, was in charge of a dera in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh. According to the police, Joga Singh is the person who gave shelter to Amritpal in Pilibhit after his escape on March 18 and kept supporting him. Earlier, two people were also arrested in Punjab for giving shelter to Amritpal Singh.
The police had launched a major crackdown last month against Amritpal Singh and members of his organization ‘Waris Punjab De’. The radical Sikh preacher escaped the police trap on March 18 by changing his vehicle and changing his appearance and is still absconding
