The latest update indicates that Ishan made this decision attributing it to mental fatigue.25-year-old Ishan Kishan, who plays domestic cricket for Jharkhand, decided to withdraw from the South Africa Test series due to mental fatigue. He has been traveling with the team regularly for the last 12 months.

Ishan Kishan had requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). However, BCCI did not give the reason behind Kishan’s request. The board said that the cricketer has withdrawn his name citing personal reasons.Since January 2023, Kishan has been a part of the Indian cricket team across all three formats. His participation encompassed the T20 and ODI series versus Sri Lanka (January 3-15), followed by New Zealand’s limited-overs series hosted in India.

While included in the Indian Test squad for the 4-match series at home spanning from February 9 to March 22, Kishan, unfortunately, remained on the bench for all four matches. The emerging wicketkeeper-batsman continued his stint with the Mumbai Indians in the IPL until May before venturing to England for the World Test Championship Final (WTC Final). His most recent appearance was in the T20 match against Australia in Guwahati.
