New Delhi:As the world immersed itself in New Year celebrations, Japan experienced a series of seismic events. On the first day of the year, a powerful 7.6-magnitude earthquake struck, marking one of the most intense seismic occurrences in Japan’s history. The aftermath included cracked roads, uprooted pillars, and disrupted daily life.
Over the last 24 hours, Japan has witnessed a total of 56 earthquakes with a magnitude exceeding 4.0 Simultaneously, India has also faced seismic activities in various regions within the past day. Late on Monday night, tremors from earthquakes were felt across different parts of the country, including North India.
The National Seismology Center of the Ministry of Earth Sciences provided this information.According to the National Seismology Centre, an earthquake was recorded in Nagaland in the evening. At 7.18 pm, an earthquake of magnitude 2.8 occurred in Wokha area, which was at a depth of 5 kilometers from the ground.
An earthquake also occurred in Ladakh at 10:15 pm 29 seconds late night. The intensity of this earthquake was recorded at 3.6. It came at a depth of 10 kilometers from the ground.
