Lok Sabha Election: A dozen EVMs malfunctioned during mock poll in Meerut.

Meerut. Voting for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh is taking place from 7 am on Friday. Which is going to last till 5 pm. Here voting started on 8 seats of Uttar Pradesh. During this time, voting started from 7 am in Maroha, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh and Mathura, but during the mock poll in Meerut itself, about 12 EVM machines were found faulty.

Elections were to start in Meerut at 7 am, but during the mock poll itself, EVMs were found defective at a dozen places. In such a situation, all 12 EVM machines were replaced. During this time, DM Deepak Meena is busy monitoring through the control room. In Meerut, polling booths are being monitored through webcasting control room.

For security reasons, monitoring is also being done through CCTV cameras across the city.Let us tell you that there is a tough election contest on Meerut Lok Sabha seat. Here Samajwadi Party has made Sunita Verma, wife of former MLA Yogesh Sharma, its candidate. Whereas BJP has fielded Arun Govil (who played the role of Ram) and Bahujan Samaj Party has fielded Devvrat Tyagi in the election battle.

BJP has been winning the Lok Sabha elections on this seat for three consecutive times. The total number of voters here is 20, 00,533, out of which male voters are 10,75,368, female voters are 9,25,022 and third gender voters are 140.
