Maharashtra: 14 killed, 3 injured as girder machine collapses in Thane

Mumbai: A big news has come out from Thane in Maharashtra. A big accident took place in Shahpur of Thane in the early hours of Tuesday. During the construction work of Samruddhi Mahamarg in Shahpur Saralambe area of Thane, a crane i.e. girder machine fell down from the bridge, in which about 14 people died and three were injured.

It is being told that 10-15 people may still be trapped inside. According to the information, the crane fell down from about 200 feet, after which there was hue and cry all around. The reason for the accident is not yet clear.

But sources say that this accident happened due to overloading. According to the police, the work of Phase-3 of Samriddhi Expressway was being done at a fast pace in this area. Bridge making crane was present on the pillars of the bridge.

The girder of the bridge was being connected by raising it with the help of this crane. The crane was at a height of about 200 feet. That’s why this machine suddenly fell down in Shahpur area in the early hours of Tuesday.

A large number of laborers were present under the bridge, who got caught in it. The real reasons for the fall of the machine could not be ascertained. At present, the work of evacuating the people affected by it is being done at a fast pace.
