Nineveh: The news of fire has come from Hamdania district of Nineveh province of Iraq. 100 people died and 150 were injured in a fire that broke out at a wedding ceremony in Hamdania district on Tuesday.
The death toll may increase further. Local civil defense said a fire broke out at a large event hall in the north-eastern region after fireworks were lit during celebrations. Due to which this terrible fire broke out.
According to the information received, the building was made of highly flammable construction material, due to which it quickly caught fire.
Ambulances and medical teams were dispatched to the site by federal Iraqi authorities and officials from Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdistan Region, according to official statements.
Eyewitnesses present at the scene said that the fire broke out in the building at around 10:45 pm local time and hundreds of people were present at the time of the incident.
