There has been heavy rain in many cities of Kerala. It is being told that due to Cyclone Remal, the southwest monsoon knocked prematurely on the Kerala coast and some parts of the Northeast on Thursday.
The Meteorological Department had predicted that the monsoon would knock on June 1. But the monsoon knocked two days before the forecast. It is believed that the monsoon may knock in Delhi-NCR by June 30. At the same time, it is likely to reach Maharashtra by June 5.

According to meteorologists, the cyclone pulled the flow of monsoon towards the Bay of Bengal. This could be one of the reasons for the premature arrival of monsoon in the Northeast. Cyclone ‘Remal’ hit the coast of West Bengal and Bangladesh on Sunday. Due to this, there was heavy rain from Bengal to Bangladesh and many people lost their lives.

According to the IMD, the southwest monsoon has knocked in Kerala and has moved towards most parts of Northeast India today i.e. on 30 May 2024. Earlier on May 15, the Meteorological Department had announced the arrival of monsoon in Kerala on May 31. Kerala has been receiving heavy rains for the last few days, as a result of which additional rain has been recorded in May.

The normal date of arrival of monsoon in Kerala is June 1 and the date of arrival of monsoon in Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur and Assam is June 5. It is believed that Northeast India including Bihar, Jharkhand and Bengal will soon get relief from the heat. The IMD has also issued an alert regarding the monsoon. The IMD issued an orange alert in seven districts of Kerala. Heavy rains continue in Kerala due to the monsoon.
