Earthquake: Strong earthquake tremors felt in Colombia’s capital, 1 woman killed

Bogota: Strong tremors of earthquake have been felt in Bogota, the capital of Colombia. Sirens started ringing due to the strong earthquake of 6.3 magnitude that occurred on Thursday and after a while panic spread among the people.

During this, a woman jumped from the 10th building, due to which she died. However, there has been no report of any death or damage to property due to the earthquake.The earthquake occurred at 12:04 pm local time (1704 GMT) on Thursday, with the epicenter in the city of El Calvario in the center of the country, 40 kilometers (25 miles) southeast of Bogotá.

Officials said that there is no information of any major damage due to the earthquake on Thursday. At the same time, according to the mayor, there were reports of people getting trapped in the lift and other minor incidents during the earthquake.

Posting on Twitter, the capital’s mayor, Claudia Lopez, confirmed the incident of a woman jumping herself from the 10th floor of a residential building and said she may have been suffering from a nervous disorder. On the other hand, the death of the woman has been confirmed by the firefighters
