West Bengal: Early morning action in teacher recruitment scam, ED raids at many places

Kolkata: There was early morning action in West Bengal regarding the teacher recruitment scam. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has raided many places in the teacher recruitment scam. This raid has been conducted in Newtown and Nagerbazar areas of Kolkata.

The house of Amin Master, a close aide of Prasanna Roy, who played the role of middleman in the teacher recruitment scam, has been raided in Patharghata, Newtown. He is accused of taking money from people and giving them jobs.According to the information received, ED officials are also conducting raids in North 24 Parganas.

A team of 5 ED officers is raiding the house of para teachers. Another ED team is also conducting raids in Dumdum area. Let us tell you that earlier in the same scam, people associated with the education department including West Bengal government minister Partha Chattopadhyay were arrested.

It is noteworthy that recently the residences and offices of many persons including chartered accountants, businessmen and others linked to the scam were searched. Following the order of Kolkata High Court, both ED and CBI are investigating the alleged irregularities in this scam.

On July 22 last year, the ED, which was investigating the money trail in the teacher recruitment scam, had raided 14 places including the residence of Partha Chatterjee. During this time, ED got information about Parth’s close aide Arpita Mukherjee. After this, Arpita Mukherjee’s flat was raided.
