Unnao. A speeding truck and a Daggamar bus collided on the Unnao-Hardoi road. In the head-on collision, the right side of the bus was blown to pieces. While overtaking, the truck rammed the bus. Eight people died in this accident, while 19 passengers were injured. The scene of the accident was such that the soul of whoever saw it shuddered.
After the accident, when the villagers ran after hearing the screams of the passengers, they were shocked to see the horrifying scene. The crowd shuddered at the sight of dead bodies and passengers hanging from the bus seats. There were more than 30 passengers in the Daggamar bus. With the help of passersby, the police rescued the injured and the dead.
In the accident, 4 men and 2 women died on the spot. 9 seriously injured including 2 dying ones were referred to Hallett Hospital in Kanpur. Two more injured died during treatment. The death toll has increased to 8. There is an uproar among the relatives of the deceased on the news of the accident. While 10 other injured are undergoing treatment in Unnao District Hospital.
After the accident, SP Unnao SS Meena, SDM and other officers reached the spot and conducted investigation. DM Gaurang Rathi reached the district hospital and inquired about the condition of the injured. The DM gave the responsibility of treating the injured along with the team of doctors in the district hospital to the CMO. In fact, at around 3 pm on Sunday, there was a direct collision between a speeding truck and a Daggamar bus in front of Jamaluddinpur village of Safipur Kotwali area on Unnao-Hardoi road.
The Daggamar bus was going from Unnao to Safipur with passengers and the speeding truck was coming from Bangarmau towards Unnao. There were more than 30 passengers in the bus.
