Lucknow.After an eight-month respite, Uttar Pradesh has reported its first COVID-19-related fatality. The victim, an elderly woman from Mohanlalganj, Lucknow, succumbed to the coronavirus during her treatment in the capital.
The woman, who had recently returned from Trivandrum, Kerala, was admitted to SGPGI and was already grappling with various health issues, including kidney complications. Currently, her sample has been dispatched for genome sequencing to gain further insights into the situation.
On the other hand, after the first death due to corona infection after 8 months, the health department has also come into action. The health department has advised people to be cautious. Other members of the family were also tested by the health department, but fortunately no one else was found infected.
It is noteworthy that the deceased woman had gone to visit Kerala with her husband and two sons on December 21. After the woman developed fever there, the family returned to Lucknow by flight on 28 December.
After getting tested here, she was found corona infected, after which the woman was admitted to PGI. While she died on Tuesday morning, according to CMO Dr. Manoj Aggarwal, the woman was also suffering from kidney, diabetes and many other diseases.
