Dehardun: Fire incidents in the forests of Uttarakhand are not stopping. Forests are burning in many districts including Almora and Bageshwar. In this context, the forest fire in Almora district is gradually getting out of control. It is being told that dozens of forests are on fire.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has asked Chief Secretary Radha Raturi to give one week’s notice to all the District Magistrates and issue instructions for regular monitoring of forest fires.According to media reports, since November 1 last year, a total of 910 incidents of fire have occurred in the forests of Uttarakhand and about 1145 hectares of forest has been affected.
Let us tell you that last Saturday a review meeting was held with the officials regarding the incidents of forest fire happening in the state. According to media reports, a total of 5 people have died so far due to the forest fire. At the same time, people are having difficulty in breathing due to the smoke coming out of the forests.
The fire that spread in the forests of Barahat range on Thursday evening could not be extinguished till Sunday. Apart from this, the forest adjacent to Dang and Pokhri village of Mukhem range along with the forest in Chamkot and Dilsaud area of Dunda range are also in the grip of fire.
Apart from this, the forests adjacent to Phedi and Silkyara in Dharasu range were also seen burning. According to forest department data, 19.5 hectares of forest in Uttarkashi forest division has been burnt to ashes due to forest fire.
