Dehradun: With the onset of summer, incidents of fire in the forests of different areas of Uttarakhand are increasing rapidly. In this sequence, the fire that broke out near Pataldevi in Almora city is rapidly moving towards the population. However, the fire brigade reached the spot and controlled the fire with great efforts.
If the fire was not extinguished in time, many government institutions and people’s residences would have been burnt to ashes. The police has tweeted giving information on the fire in Pauri Garhwal area.
Police tweeted and said, ‘Pauri Police in Uttarakhand controlled the fire in the forests of Pauri. Strict action will be taken against those who cause damage to the forest wealth.’
Apart from this, the police have arrested many youths while taking action against those who set fire to the forest. Pauri police have arrested 5 people and 3 people have been arrested in Bageshwar. So far 129 cases of arson have been registered. A named report has been filed against 29 people in 23 cases.Many forests have been burnt to ashes due to fire incidents.
Forests from Kumaon to Garhwal in Uttarakhand are burning these days. More than 600 forest fire incidents have been reported in about a month. SDRF has been called to extinguish the fire in the forests of Nainital. Forest department, army, police and PRD personnel have been deployed to extinguish the fire. The flames have reached military establishments in Nainital and Almora. Fire has also reached close to many residential areas.
