New Delhi:In a significant seismic event today, a powerful earthquake has struck the region, causing strong tremors felt as far as Himachal Pradesh.Late on the night of Wednesday-Thursday, Rupnagar in Punjab experienced tremors from a 3.2 magnitude earthquake.
The National Seismic Monitoring Centre has reported no casualties or property damage as of now. The earthquake occurred at 1:13 am and was located at a depth of 10 kilometers below the ground. Reports suggest that the tremors were also felt in some areas of neighboring Himachal Pradesh.

According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake struck at the same time. The epicenter of the earthquake was located 215 kilometers to the north of Ayodhya, with a depth of 10 kilometers.Just this past Monday, a 5.6 magnitude earthquake rattled numerous regions within Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand.
Fortunately, no significant damage was reported. The local disaster management office explained that the earthquake’s epicenter was in Nepal, and at 4:17 pm, tremors were felt in areas such as Dharchula, Didihat, and Bangapani in the district. It’s important to note that a recent 6.4 magnitude earthquake in Nepal resulted in the tragic loss of at least 157 lives, with more than 160 individuals sustaining injuries.
