The local people got scared due to the earth shaking in the early morning. During the last few weeks, earthquake tremors have been felt several times in Ladakh. The officers provided this information. Officials said that no information has been received about any loss of life or property during this period. The National Center for Seismology (NCS) said that the earthquake occurred at 5.39 am.

Its center was at a depth of five kilometers in Leh. Earthquake tremors were also felt in the surrounding areas.Actually, the epicenter of an earthquake is the place just below which geological energy is released due to movement in the plates. Earthquake vibrations are more severe at this place. As the frequency of vibration increases, its effect decreases.

Still, if there is an earthquake with an intensity of 7 or more on the Richter scale, then the tremors are strong within a radius of 40 km. It also depends on whether the seismic frequency is upward or downward. If the frequency of vibration is upward then less area will be affected.
