Indonesia Earthquake: Strong earthquake struck Indonesia, know the intensity

Jakarta. A strong earthquake was felt in Indonesia. The earthquake hit Tobelo, 177 km north of Indonesia, on Friday. The intensity of the earthquake has been measured at 6.3 on the Richter scale.

This information was given by the American Geological Survey (USGS). Along with northern Maluku in Indonesia, the tremor was also felt in some parts of the Philippines.According to the local time, this earthquake occurred at 05.02 am.

The epicenter was located 142 km north-west of Daruba, North Maluku on the island of Morotai, at a sea depth of 107 km. The agency said that there is no possibility of a tsunami from the earthquake.A day before this, on February 23, a 6.8-magnitude earthquake occurred in a sparsely populated remote area of Tajikistan near China’s western Xinjiang region.

According to the USGS, the epicenter of the earthquake was 67 kilometers (41 mi) west of Murgob in Tajikistan and was centered at a depth of 20 kilometers.
