New Delhi. India is continuously increasing its defense capabilities. Defense systems are being continuously upgraded in the border areas to thwart the nefarious designs of Pakistan in the west and China in the north-east. Recently, two tunnels were made operational in Arunachal Pradesh, through which it has become easier to reach Tawang and other areas bordering China in any season.

On the other hand, arrangements are also being made on the Pakistan border. Preparations are underway to deploy ‘air tanks’ on the western border of the country. It is expected that this time it will be completed in the summer season. India’s increasing defense capability on the border and the strategic planning of the army is sure to create panic in the neighboring country Pakistan.

According to media reports, heavy duty combat helicopter Apache will soon be deployed on the border with Pakistan. Before this, the Indian Army has expanded its capabilities in Jodhpur, an important military post located in the Western Command. The Indian Army has increased the squadron of helicopters equipped with heavy duty and state-of-the-art capabilities.

With the coming into existence of the squadron, the Western Command of the Army will become stronger and its combat capability will also increase. Let us tell you that preparations are going on to deploy Apache helicopters in the Western Command of the Army. Its first consignment was to be received from America in February 2024, but it has been delayed. Now the first consignment of Apache helicopters is likely to be received in May.

The Indian Army has signed an agreement with American company Boeing for the purchase of Apache helicopters. Under this deal worth approximately Rs 5,691 crore, Boeing will provide 6 helicopters to the army. Defense procurement was agreed upon in February 2020.

Army Aviation Director General Lieutenant General Ajay Suri said that the supply of Apache helicopters was to start in February itself, but due to some reasons there has been some delay in it. 22 Apache helicopters have been supplied to the Indian Air Force (IAF). The Air Force had signed a contract worth Rs 13,952 crore with the American company in September 2015.
