He urged fans not to target struggling captain Hardik Pandya after the 20-run defeat against Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League match.Super Kings legend Mahendra Singh Dhoni scored 26 runs with the help of three consecutive sixes in the last over of Pandya’s innings. The Mumbai captain had to struggle with line and length in this over and he also bowled two wides at crucial times.

Pandya took 2 wickets for 43 runs in his three overs and he also had a lot of trouble in batting. He could score only two runs in six balls at the crucial stage of the match. Sunil Gavaskar criticized and said that when Hardik knew which ball Dhoni was waiting for, then why did he bowl the same ordinary ball on which sixes were scored?

Pollard said after the match, “You have to face days like this. I am fed up of targeting individual players. After all cricket is a team sport. He (Pandya) is a confident person. He has good relations with his teammates. In cricket you have good days as well as bad days. I see a person who is working hard to continue to hone his skills and show his potential.”
