New Delhi: Mercedes-Benz India has launched its most powerful AMG car in the Indian market. The company launched the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance four-door coupe, priced at ₹ 3.3 crore (ex-showroom, India). It comes with minor design revisions including new bumpers, alloy wheels, new exhaust system and charging port. The special thing is that this is a plug-in hybrid car of the company.
The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine. It also gets a 6.1kWh electric motor, inspired by the technology used by the Mercedes-AMG Formula 1 team. The combined output of the V8 engine and the electric motor is 831 bhp and a peak torque of 1,470 Nm. The top speed of the car is 316 km per hour. It accelerates from 0-100 kmph in just 2.9 seconds.
The cabin of this 4-door performance coupe gets the AMG treatment with sports seats, carbon fiber and Alcantara inserts. You also get an AMG multi-function steering wheel with shortcut dials. The AMG GT SE Performance has two 12.4-inch screens, one for the digital instrument console and the other for the infotainment system.
The car also gets AMG Dynamic Select driving modes, while there are four different recovery modes that can be selected on the steering wheel. The four-door coupe also features a toggle to increase or decrease the sound via the center console or steering wheel. The car also gets a pure EV mode for the first time, which lets you drive up to 13 km on electric power alone.
