New Delhi: The recently launched Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat Express train was allegedly targeted by unidentified miscreants on Monday. Police said the incident came to notice after railway officials noticed scratches on the glass panes of a window of a train passing through Valapatnam area in north Kerala, allegedly due to stone pelting.
Railway officials immediately informed the police that stones were pelted at the train when it was passing through Valapatnam.
However, the police said that it has not been confirmed that the incident took place at the Valapatnam border, but an investigation has been launched, and all measures have been taken to prevent such incidents.
At the same time, railway officials said that according to the information, the incident took place when the train was passing between Valapatnam and Kannur Chirakal at 3.30 pm. The train was going from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram.
The state’s first Vande Bharat Express train was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 25 from Thiruvananthapuram. Since then this is the second such incident in Kerala. Last week, unidentified miscreants allegedly pelted stones at the train when it was passing through an area between Tirunavaya and Tirur in Malappuram district.
